Hey there! Hope you're ready for a fun story from Rich & Kitch's wedding day in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico! The moment we're sharing in this post was not something we planned to incorporate into our wedding day, but we're so glad it happened, since it is a great memory we'll always cherish!
For our destination wedding in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, we decided to have maracas designed as one of our wedding favors. We had them displayed at the entrance of our wedding for our guests to grab as they entered the wedding ceremony. The point of the maracas were to shake them during our first kiss as husband & wife! We also loved them to add some Mexican culture to our special day and thought they made a fun keepsake for our family & friends who traveled to Cabo to support us. Little did we know these maracas would be a huge hit throughout the night!
After we entered our wedding reception, everyone was seated at their tables, and our DJ was ready to get the party started. Of course our family & friends were ready to party (maracas in hand) and our DJ encouraged everyone to chant “beso” (which means kiss in Spanish). After our DJ's announcement, every time someone started shaking their maracas/chanting “beso,” Richie & I had to kiss! It made for such a funny memory throughout our entire wedding reception (thanks DJ Roberto) and an extreme amount of kisses between Richie & me LOL!
As you continue to plan your wedding, we encourage you to think about a meaningful moment that might be fun to incorporate into your wedding day. Having fun stories like this from your wedding day make it even more memorable! And who knows, maybe something unexpected will happen during your wedding day, too!
